This Event is a Work In Progress... Ymp being the sole head at development of this site, it might take anything between 3 months and 4 years
for it to become available. To be honest given the amount of work this particular event requires, it is quite far in my own view of how to handle the site's development since I'd better make 5 easier to program events pop up sooner than clog the workflow for months to come up with only one game. That said you may press the Prioritize button if you think you'd be likely to play this and want to change my mind... |

Score Constructor is quite what its name tells : you have to rebuild the score of what you hear... Right : rhythm recognition and ear training
all-in-one! It's gonna be as challenging to play as it will be to code (or maybe not : it'll especially be LLlllONG to code). Rather than implementing the site's typical 100pts scoring system, this one will work by "stages" (are these video games?) meaning you get one score to complete and only get to know your score (as in points, not counterpoints) when you're done Scoring will be based on how close to the actual rhythmic and melodic structure your rendition of the music heard is primarily, but also on how much you have to listen back to the sample you have to build the score for Eventually as site development gets in far stage with a rating system for the whole site and each single event, things like average difficulty of every little details of the elements you're asked to put in score may be taken into account in scoring, or also if you improved on something you have notable trouble with... You can listen to the music to build the score for in smaller samples than just the whole riff, but the amount of time you listen to, as it grows, brings your final score down. You'll be given 2 interfaces to answer : one using standard music notation and another with a piano roll in which you position the notes on and stretch them. Ironically the feel and control of both interfaces should be quite similar... I may make it up to 4 parts for the harder levels, with some having chords or intervals played harmonically in them. Don't forget everything about the Ears section of the site will be in touch with microtolality as much as it has to be (now that will be really long to code... so what?) Aspects to develop : - Rhythmic precision - Melodic precision (down to subtle microtones :) - Harmonic precision (based on how well you respond to chords or intervals) - Speed of answer in elements/minute (1 apsect for each interface) - Memorization (number of playtime used as reference to come up with your final score build) - Number of parts - Timbre mastery (precision for each possible instrument the game uses : 1 aspect each instrument) |
